This morning they resumed the ride across the US. Before heading off, they tried weighting their bike and gear. First, they stood on the bathroom scale to get their weight and then they got on it again holding their bike full of gear. I don't know how accurate this mention is but both bikes with gear changed the scale by about 100 pounds.
Today they rode over the Blue Ridge Summit ending up just outside Williamsport, MD. They rode 62 miles with a total ascent of 2535 feet. They will be camping for the first time on their trip tonight.

  1. My nephew Jake, son Shannon and myself rode 18 miles tonight. I told them on the way home, "Karl and Zack probably rode 60 miles farther than us today"
Enjoy the trip. I'll watch from here.
