I spoke to Karl a little while ago, they had stopped at a Wal-Mart about 2 miles from the hotel where they will be staying tonight. They needed to restock some bike supplies because Zach had two flat tired today and Karl had one. They had ridden 87 miles so far from Portales, Texas to Roswell, Texas. They should end up with a total of 89 miles once they get to their hotel, with a total of 2409 miles for the trip so far. He is planning on calling again once they get there but I might not get back on the computer tonight if there is anything else to add. They still plan to take a break from riding tomorrow to do some sightseeing in Roswell.
I spoke to Karl after they got to their hotel. They did have 89 miles for the day. He told me they started riding at 6:30am Mountain time and the first 30 miles was easy riding but then the winds picked up and they had to fight a head wind the rest of the way to Roswell.
Hope they see aliens!
ReplyDeleteHello to Karl and Zach from Pat and Ann in Pennsylvania! Last week we did our ride from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. After two flat tires, 95 degrees, 100% humidity, one headlight sacrificed to the Paw Paw Tunnel, and lots of scrapes, bruises and bug bites, we made it! We only rode 5 days, but boy! it sure gave us an appreciation for what you're doing every day! We thought of you often and told others about you and your ride across the country, so you have many wellwishers rooting for you!
